Children's Church
The truth is, we get it. Every hour counts as a parent. Kids aren't designed to sit for hours. Worship isn't usually designed for kids. Until now!
Instead of a 9 am 'traditional' Sunday School. Kids will start worship at 10 am with the community and then go to their own designated space to grow.
Kids are supervised by CPR and background checked volunteers.
Safety: We have a Safe Sanctuary policy that outlines our policies and procedures for keeping kids safe.

Does my child have to go?
Nope. It's an option, just like the old Sunday School!
What's the difference from SS?
Just the time. However, we are planning more of a praise environment, starting late summer.
What are the benefits?
Kids can learn and worship and be kids. Parents don't have to worry about their child's behavior. Parents can be present, but so can kids in their own space. This also allows a greater volunteer base, since both parents and volunteers are gaining an extra hour to get to church.
What are they learning?
Kids are learning biblical lessons from awesome curriculum and awesome teachers. Kids are learning about the scripture, God's love, and how to share their faith.
Are my kids safe?
Yes, our kids are overseen by adults with background checks, CPR certified, and deep spiritual roots.

Vacation Bible School

Middle School
We're planning a Jr. High Growth Group on Sundays @ 9 am.
Purpose: For middle school children to learn about the faith in a shared community. Facilitated with adult spiritual leaders.
Launching Fall 2020
Calming Room
Calming Room: Our goal is to support parents with new babies with a room designed for privacy & a brief get away. A changing station and other amenities provided.
Worship Helpers
We at GUMC believe kids should be in charge. Kids are welcome to help serve & receive Holy Communion, ring the bell, acolyte, usher, etc. We believe we should incorporate our kids into all our ministries as much as possible.
